Epifacial is a non-ablative photo skin rejuvenation technique that diminishes hyperpigmentation, lentigines, spider veins, and signs of rosacea. It can be used to diminish skin surface imperfections such as large pore
size, fine wrinkles, and elastic skin changes. Epifacial uses Intense Pulsed Light, which stimulates subsurface remodeling, encouraging fiber blast activity and increased collagen deposition. It usually requires four
treatments over three weeks.
Treatment involves a pulsed light. You may feel a slight pinch on your skin, similar to the snapping of a rubber band. No local anesthesia is required.
Unlike traditional laser treatments, an Epifacial requires virtually no downtime, and the process takes lasts a half an hour. It is non-invasive and involves no chemicals or abrasives.
There are some short-term side effects. Some effects may include slight reddening of the skin or local swelling, which away within a few days. In rare instances there may be some blistering.
